For years, Ultimate To-Do List (UTL) was many Android users' favorite way to use Toodledo — a third-party app with Toodledo sync at its heart. If you're moving to Toodledo's official apps, here's the good news up front: your data is already home. UTL synced with Toodledo's servers, so there is no export, no migration, no risk. The switch is about learning a different front door to the same house.
What carries over automatically
Everything that synced: folders, contexts, goals, due dates, start dates, priorities, statuses, stars, tags, notes, and recurring tasks. Sign into the official Toodledo app (or the web app) with your existing account and it's all there. Your years of history included.
What will feel different
- Views and widgets. UTL's hallmark was deep Android-native view customization and widgets. The official app organizes around Toodledo's own views — including the Hotlist, the rule-driven "what matters now" screen. Expect a week of muscle-memory adjustment.
- Where the power lives. In UTL, you customized views in the app. In Toodledo, the equivalent power lives in saved searches — build the rule once on the web, use it everywhere, including your phone.
- The web app is first-class. Many UTL users rarely touched Toodledo's web interface. It's the fullest expression of the system — do your weekly review and search-building there, run your day from the phone.
A 20-minute switch plan
- (2 min) Install the official Toodledo app, sign in with your existing account. Verify your tasks are present.
- (5 min) On the web, open the Hotlist settings and set its rules to match the UTL view you lived in — typically due today/overdue plus high priority.
- (10 min) Rebuild your 2–3 most-used UTL views as saved searches. Most translate directly: fields are identical since both spoke the same data language.
- (3 min) Set your notification preferences in the new app so reminders keep firing.
Keep UTL installed for a week as a safety blanket if you like — same account, both stay in sync. Retire it when you stop opening it.
Worth adopting while you're moving
